Maya Jorgensen is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and was raised in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. She moved to Tampa, Florida, to pursue her bachelor’s in Exercise Science with a minor in Education from The University of Tampa. Upon graduating college, Maya began working as a gymnastics coach, where she still teaches when she’s not at Ginger Health.
When Maya isn’t helping patients at Ginger Health, she enjoys taking day trips to Disney or Universal Studios in Orlando, watching gymnastics on TV, and reading a good book by the pool.
One thing that inspires Maya is bringing happiness and joy to the lives of others and helping out wherever she can. At a young age, Maya always wanted to help people going through difficult times to make each of their days happier. She is very excited that she found a career that focuses on helping others regain their functional independence while bringing joy into their life. One of her favorite quotes is from Walt Disney, “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever.”
Through Maya’s work as a COTA, she hopes to help everyone she treats gain independence. Whether in school or their personal and professional lives. Anyone who works with Maya can attest that her mission is to bring others hope and happiness.
